WHAT IS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ABOUT?
We are the party of acceptance.
The Democratic Party will support rights for every individual regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, education level, disability or income.
We believe in affordable and reliable health care, the value of teachers, protecting our social security benefits, reproductive rights, civil rights, a clean environment, the value of youth in the political process, fiscal responsibility, and equal justice for every citizen of our great country.
The Virginia Democrat Glossary defines a Democrat as follows:
“An individual who believes in the Constitution of the United States, has a special love of the Bill of Rights; who believes that all citizens deserve an equal opportunity for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; who believes that there is a special compact between the citizens and their government that binds all the people together to help those less fortunate; and strongly encourages others to participate in the political process.”
WHAT DO BRISTOL VIRGINIA DEMOCRATS DO?
The Bristol Virginia Democratic Party is a branch within the Ninth District of the

We have the responsibility of recruiting and supporting candidates, conducting the nomination process within the city, working the polls, helping people register to vote, encouraging voter turnout on election days, providing transportation to the polls, and assisting the disabled and homebound with absentee ballots.
